Kathmandu: The Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany has issued a statement on behalf of Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. The release reads as -" On May 14th 2009 representatives of different embassies and consulates and met with representative of the Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare to discuss about international adoption. Nepal has only recently signed the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in respect of Inter Country Adoption and its working towards its implementation and ratification. The international community appreciates the steps taken and stands ready to support the government of Nepal in its further endevours. The participants were very satisfied with the outcome of the meeting that was conducive to strengthening the trust between the Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare and the participating embassies and counsulates"
